About

My inspiration for design began long before I realized it would become my career.

Growing up in Texas, visits with my grandparents often meant long evenings where the adults gathered around card tables talking and playing games. While they enjoyed their time together, I wandered. I explored the large homes nearby, studying the details that made each space feel unique — the curve of a wood banister, the scale of a stone fireplace, the texture of plaster walls, and the way light moved through each room.

Those early moments sparked a fascination with how spaces shape the way we feel.

Years later, after moving to Arizona and meeting my husband, that fascination grew into something deeper. Together we began building custom homes through our company, BP2 Custom Homes. Being immersed in the building process gave me a deep appreciation for architecture and the relationship between structure, materials, and interior design.

Eventually I pursued my degree in interior design and began developing my own studio.

SJS Travel Designs was created from two lifelong passions: travel and interiors.

We all seek out places around the world that inspire us — a quiet coastal village, a historic European town, a beautifully designed boutique hotel. Travel allows us to experience spaces that feel memorable, welcoming, and deeply connected to their surroundings.

My goal is to bring that same feeling home.

Through thoughtful materials, natural textures, and layered design, SJS Travel Designs focuses on creating interiors that feel timeless, personal, and restorative — spaces that capture the sense of discovery and comfort we often feel while traveling.

Because home should be more than a place you live.

It should feel like a destination.

Based in Arizona.
